Our Corporate Banking Division is a key delivery area for customer propositions. Their most important function is the building of a very strong, effective and valued relationship with each and every corporate customer. It also deals with issues that need to be addressed to enable the customer's business become operationally more efficient and focused on key deliverables.

This is achieved through the collective skills of Relationship Managers. Many variables determine the criteria to operate a corporate account and these include: Turnover of GH¢100,000 and above and/or Exposure of GH¢50,000 and above.

International Trade Finance

Our International   Trade Finance Division (ITFD) provides advisory services and assists both   importers and exporters in their international trade business.

Advisory Services
We offer advise on various terms of   payments in relation to your imports and exports trade.

For Importers 

  1. Bills for Collection
    This is a fast and   efficient means of settling trade bills. Payment is made against presentation of   shipping documents to GCB by overseas suppliers (preferably through their   bankers).
     
  2. Letter of Credit
    The Bank will provide a   written undertaking to suppliers abroad through their bankers to pay an amount   of money within a specified time, provided beneficiary presents documents as   required by the Letter of Credit.
     
  3. Foreign Exchange
    The Bank also provides   foreign exchange at very competitive rates for settlement of Trade   Bills.

  4. Guarantee
    This service offers an opportunity   to importers of goods and services to assess the capacity or financial strength   of an exporter. An importer may therefore require some guarantee that the   exporter will be able to perform as promised.   At the request of the importer,   a Bank Guarantee may be arranged to secure the exporter’s ability to   perform.
       
    GCB offers the under listed types of guarantees:

    • Advance Payment Guarantee
    • Payment Guarantee
    • Letter of Comfort
       
        Benefit
        Risk of non-performance by   exporter is drastically reduced  

For Exporters

Subject to compliance with credit   requirements, the Bank provides:

  1. Pre-Export Finance
    Funds will be provided   against an Export Letter of Credit to assist clients purchase goods to meet   export orders.
     
  2. Post-Shipment Finance
    Advance against   Bills, the Bank advances funds against payments due on a future date.
